-Why is this group not open to everyone?
There are many local singles groups to choose from in the city, and a great many cater to specific interests. Because SV is parish ministry of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Parish, its responsibility is to provide an ecumenical environment for Christian believers. Jesus Christ is our common bond.

-Is this an introduction/dating group?

-What type of events does the group host, how often, and how many people attend?
Events are member driven and thus SV relies on its members to suggest and host events. Because of the diversity of people involved, there are many interesting ideas that come forth from our planning meetings. Our goal is to facilitate at least one activity per week; they are usually scheduled on the weekend. Look at our calendar section as well as the photos page to gain an idea of some of the events the group hosts. Events are well attended, averaging 10-20 members. Our holiday and other special events have drawn as many as 100 people!

-How much do events cost?
It all depends on the event. Some are completely free, while others do incur a cost. The costs associated with these functions include; admissions, cover charges, tickets, meals and drinks, etc... For some events, members are asked to bring food items to share.

-Why do I have to RSVP for events?
Because it is vital to know who and how many people are attending an event. This is especially important when the event involves dinner reservations that the coordinator has to make in advance. Also, if an event is changed, a proper RSVP insures that the event host can contact all the members who signed up for the event. Also remember that it is just as important to contact the host if you need to cancel your RSVP.

-What information do I need to give when RSVPing?
When e-mailing or phoning an event contact, leave them your full name, membership number and phone number. This is crucial for the smooth running of SV events.

-Can I bring a friend to an event?
Yes, if the event lends itself to it, by all means invite a friend. We ask that you tell the event contact that you are inviting a non-member to an event so they know in advance. We also request that you and your guests do not abuse this invitation by attending multiple events without the friend becoming a member themselves.

-Is there carpooling to and from events?
Members are responsible for their own transportation to and from events. SV can not organize carpooling, it can only encourage its members to get to know one another and then ask for rides to and from events on their own. In summary, SV will not provide organized assistance with rides due to logistical and liability issues.
